Debbie Goldberg was born and raised in Texas. Adopted at birth, Debbie grew up along the Texas-Mexico border in Laredo, Texas. Raised as the daughter of two Holocaust survivors, Debbie was influenced by a non-conventional blending of cultures – part Yiddish old country, part Mexican-American, part Tunisian Jew (after connecting with her biological family), part Texan. Debbie’s artwork is primarily influenced by this combination of cultural environments, as well as by her career as an art educator.
In 1995, Debbie became a full-time art educator, focused on helping high school students develop their own skills as artists. Debbie holds two master’s degrees – one in Counseling and one in Studio Art. She continues to advocate for the arts and its ability to enable divergent thinking.
Debbie is a lover of poodles, shoes, and dark chocolate. She lives and works in Laredo, Texas.
